Over the last 10 years, Martin has developed a passion for designing large scale interactive installations. The installations have been a highly collaborative process: Working together with designer, hotelier and founder of The Art With Me Festival, David Grazziano. It’s “A-Maze-ing” , Tulum, 2019, was a facilitated journey, through a maze / metaphor of the mind and of our individual and collective journeys. Signage bearing thought provoking quotes appeared throughout and in key places such as dead ends where pearls of wisdom were playfully imparted by performers and prose alike. Once the maze was successfully navigated, guests were united in the mindful present and were invited to pay it forward to those ahead by powering a cylindrical contraption that in turn caused a circular bed to rotate inside the base of a tower. This would activate a sound bath and ritual of gratitude emphasizing oneness in the present moment. 3 ensuing versions of It’s A-Maze-Ing were created for Art With Me Miami, 2021, 2022 and 2023 as the entrance to the Festival. Martin’s carnivalesque painting of eyes, titled “Art With Me” served as the entry piece to the maze. Guests were invited to sit in a white throne in front of the painting and behind a giant gold frame to pose for a photo “inside” the work of art.
